About Us

We are an ethical, eco-friendly brand based in  Liberia.
Ellefoodie was born out of passion. The founder’s desire to do more grew as she became aware of her environment, the people, job scarcity, untapped talents, fading cultures, and harmful deposits in our soils that we all contribute to.
She saw a huge opportunity, looking at all of the local talents available in her country Liberia and Africa at large combined with the natural resources and kept thinking of ways to tap into that and find a solution.
Why do we import everything? Her daily thought? How can we work together and transform materials we have locally into usable sustainable items?
Now Ellefoodie works with talented women and men to create beautiful, eco-friendly handcrafted alternatives that are unique and tells a personal story for each of the artisans.

Ellefoodie Story

It started as a personal passion-driven by Love! For food, nature, and arts!  We are so blessed with all the natural resources we could ever wish for in Africa yet the majority are still struggling to make ends meet. Job scarcity is a common term around here. How do we create jobs and pass on usable knowledge that helps the majority to become self-sufficient? Artisans!
Artisans, who are usually self-employed are turning to other trades due to the lack of demand for their crafts and in exchange?  We are losing parts of our culture, creating even more job scarcity, high import of everything even when we have a local alternative?
It’s never late to start something new and positive. With our passion to do better and shine a light on what we have, We spot talented craft women/men and work with them to transform ideas into actual products using locally sourced materials and creating much-needed income for our artisans, preserving our heritage and creating beautiful, unique handcrafted pieces for our customers all while doing our best to take care of our only home, EARTH.
We are passionately looking forward to providing more job opportunities, hands-on training workshops for the unskilled, and changing the popular narrative about Africa.
Your support means a lot! Your purchase helps us provide more jobs and opportunities.

Our Vision

Creating job opportunities with a fair income for our artisans and taking care of Mother’s Nature by providing sustainable, Eco-conscious alternatives using locally sourced materials from the mother’s Land.

Tips on how to reduce waste

A daily question we should ask ourselves.  How do I help reduce waste?
  • Reuse, repurpose, up-cycled, invest in environmentally friendly products
  • Shopping? And don’t have a reusable bag? Make sure to take just the right amount of Plastic bags you need and remember to reuse them.
  • Buy drinking water in bulk and store in repurposed juice glass bottles, save the planet as well as some much-needed cash.
